I just did an update to my iPhone 6s Plus and it installed iOS 15.8.

Now the iPhone 6s Plus has NO SERVICE and the Cellular Setting Screen is blank.

I tried rebooting, hard reset, reset network setting yet nothing.

AT&T was no help.

Any way to downgrade to 15.5.7.

FWIW before the update I was running 14.something.

I don't know what you're asking. Maybe updating your iPhone? There are different ways to ensure the highest iOS that your device will support is installed on your device.

An iPhone 5S, 6, or 6plus, will only update to iOS 12.5.7

iPhones 6S through 7, and SE(gen. 1), will currently only update to iOS 15.8

This support article has instructions about updating an iPhone or iPad wirelessly --> Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support Read the article for recommended criteria for being able to use wireless updating.

You can also use Mac and PC computers to update system software --> Update iOS on iPhone - Apple Support

When updating, your device will update to the highest version currently available that it will support, or it will just say it is up to date (and can't go any higher) and won't install anything. If you want to run a higher system version than your current device is capable of running, you need to buy a newer device.

Thanks for the information.

Apparently the 6s Plus and iOS 15.8 are not the only devices experiencing this issue. I have seen similar reports from people with much newer phones running iOS 17.something.

From what I can tell from some basic testing is that signal sensitivity / strength has been decreased with the iOS 15.8 update.

Previous locations with 1 or 2 bars now has NO SERVICE. To make things even more frustrating is that for some reason when there is NO SERVICE shown WiFi Calling drops off the phone as well.

Clearly something is amuck with the iOS update and should be addressed by Apple sooner than later.

Hopefully this is not another BatteryGate to push people to purchase the newest iOS device.

Rotton Cider, did you ever get a resolution to this issue? We ran into the same thing, and I thought it was a fluke or just bad reception since the update. However I see others with the 6s plus and the 7 have had similar problems after this required update.

Our phone worked perfectly fine before the update. Now, phone service sometimes doesn't work, no data is available, and videos can't be sent, even when on wifi.

Thanks for any info about how you resolved your issue.

There's no way to downgrade iOS – with the special-case exception of removing beta-test versions. I'd suggest checking in Settings > General > About to see if you need to install a carrier settings update.

For what it's worth, here's AT&T's support site for your phone.

It mentions an AT&T Device Help App. It sounds like that app has some troubleshooting features, though I don't know how comprehensive they are, or whether they would help with your problem.
