Mac Mini and Macbook to two Dell U2723QE monitors

I currently have a Dell Ultrasharp U2723QE monitor as a second screen for my iMac, as well as being a display for my M1 Macbook Air.

I want to upgrade my iMac to a M2 Mac Mini. I am thinking of getting another Dell monitor when I do this. The monitors support daisy chaining.

  1. Can I run the two monitors on a mac mini?
  2. If so, can I run the two monitors with one cable?
  3. Can I run the two monitors from my Macbook in the same way?

Thanks in advance

The Dell UltraSharp U2723QE is a 4K monitor with USB-C (DisplayPort), DisplayPort, and HDMI inputs.

Your M1 MacBook Air only supports one external display.

A M2 Mac mini or M2 Pro Mac mini should be able to drive two of these monitors, no problem. I don't think you will be able to daisy-chain them. There are Thunderbolt docks and hubs to which you can attach two non-Thunderbolt monitors IF your machine supports multiple monitors in the first place. If you were concerned about using up all of the USB-C ports on a M2 Mac mini, you could get one of those – or consider getting a M2 Pro Mac mini (which has 4 ports to the 'base' M2 Mini's 2).

I have one of these, and it works pretty well with another Apple Silicon Mac. I have no reason to think that it would not work well with a M1 MacBook Air. Keep in mind that the M1 MacBook Air supports only one external monitor.
