Iphone 15 pro double click error

Double click on certain letters. So frustrating. My husband and I have just bought brand new iphone 15 pros in different colours. When we type some of the letters make double clicking sounds. It was doing this from the beginning before we even loaded our phone information. We both have the latest software on our phones. We need to keep checking if what we have typed is correct as the double click sound makes us think the letter has been pressed twice but it hasn’t.

is this a hardware issue or a software issue?

Should we take our phones back to the Istore?

help anyone?

I recently gave up my iPhone 7 (!!!) for the iPhone 15. I’m at version 17.2.1.

my iPhone 7 did a better job at typing than this phone does. I hear double clicks on various letters and also extra letters show up in the text.

Quality control was asleep at the wheel when this phone came through.

I got my iPhone 15 Pro Max in December 2023 and notice the same. It's really confusing, I do not remember seeing this in my prev. iPhones 13 and 11.

I hope you have fixed this problem, but if you haven’t, here’s a hint my daughter found yesterday that worked for me. Clear all the open apps from the background (apps that are in the background but still doing stuff - swipe up from the bottom of your screen and flick each one upwards to dismiss it) and turn on haptics. I don’t know which of those worked but it sorted my iPhone 15 immediately. It was driving me nuts and I’d been to the Apple Genius place with no success.

I tried setting haptics to always on but it has made no difference. I still keep getting the double click sound and it is so frustrating. I usually type very fast. And then it makes me think that I’ve typed a letter twice when I haven’t. Only solution is to switch off the click sounds when typing. 😢

I just received my first iPhone (15 pro) in over 10 years and have experienced this while setting up the device. It's very confusing behavior

No not yet. I still need to take my phone in somewhere. But when some people type on it then it doesn’t happen so it’s random. I type quite fast. It double clicks but doesn’t double type the letter.
