Battery percentage shows inconsistently in System Settings

Hi, MacOS 14.1 on M1 Pro MBP here.

What is happening here? System menu bar shows 100% charged which is expected having been plugged in all day starting from 17% around 0900. In system settings it says "Fully charged" but the graph is showing less than 50% and the charging indicator underneath the graph looks odd.

Battery health reports as Normal, Max capacity is 90% (seems reasonable given age of machine) and optimised charging is on. Have rebooted but view remains the same.

Is the graph reporting less than 50% in error or am I missing something?
