Transferring Notes from an Apple device to a PC

For others who are trying to clean out iCloud space and have dug through thousands of websites only to get answers like, "If by PC, you mean Mac", This is my workaround:

  1. Set up the iCloud for Windows online version (requires a login and a Pin) Link: Download iCloud for Windows - Apple Support
  2. You can also download the desktop version, but it's minimally useful and equally frustrating
  3. On your apple device open NOTES.
  4. Select a Note --> Click the upload arrow-->Scroll down-->choose: Open in Pages
  5. The Note will open in Pages (this step can't be done online)
  6. Repeat with every single Note you want to transfer

PAGES TO WORD: In the Online version of iCloud for windows, assuming you are logged in...

  1. Open the Pages app
  2. Choose a file ---> click the 3 dots on the file
  3. Choose Download a Copy
  4. You will see 3 options: Pages (ridiculous), PDF (if you never want to make changes again), and WORD

I always title and date the top line of my notes. Pages gives the file this title so no re-naming is needed..

  1. Opt: Return to Pages -->click the 3 dots again --> Choose Delete Selected
  2. Repat. Repeat. Repeat.

You can always save as a PDF and open in Word but I believe the conversion is slower. Copy and paste is even more timely. If you have over a hundred files, like myself, don't be tempted to bang your head on the keyboard, it only drags out the process and the keyboard won't like it. And believe me, you will be tempted.

My 2nd solution is to learn from this experience and not to store important information in iCloud.

NOTE: If you have 3rd party apps that only back up to iCloud, good luck
