WhatsApp desktop not working on Sonoma

I just upgraded for Sonoma on my MacBook Pro 2019 16" and I can't link the device to WhatsApp desktop anymore. It was working on Ventura.

WhatsApp desktop starts syncing after reading the QR code with my mobile phone and a pop up window with "Downloading messages" appears on my MacBook while a "logging in" message appears on my mobile phone. But when the "logging in" message disappear from my mobile phone, the "Downloading messages" window closes and WhatsApp Desktop comes back again to the welcome window.

Eventually after this process whatsapp desktop crashes.

Mobile and Mac are using the same wi-fi.

Is anyone having the same problem?

I am running Sonoma and WhatsApp desktop was running well for a while and all of a sudden (maybe because I changed my iPhone), the desktop app was logged out and started running into this issue. Since then I had not been able to get the desktop app running. WhatsApp Web works, but it's just not the same.

Anyone gotten any success/solution since?

Thanks.
