Can iMovie projects be stored in iCloud?

I have several iMovie projects on my iPad and would like to be able to edit them on my iMac as well. But when I load iMovie on my iMac, I see they're not there so I'm guessing they're stored locally on my iPad rather than in iCloud. If that's correct, how can I copy them to my iMac? Thanks much.

An editible iMovie project cannot be stored in the cloud. iMovie projects can only reside in an iMovie library, and iMovie libraries cannot be stored in the cloud.

I am not entirely sure, but I believe that a compressed iMovie Library folder (ZIP file) that contains a project can be stored in the cloud if you have sufficient free space, but that it cannot be opened there and would need to be downloaded and opened on your Mac to access it.

You might try creating a new test library and populating it with a small project. Then compress it (Control-click on the library's icon and select Compress from the pop up menu) and try storing the resulting zip file in the Cloud.
