On my iphone SE the keypad not working during automated calls

On my iphone SE the number keypad during automated phone call directory (IE "for customer service, press 1") does not work

Sadly, that's likely to be an issue with the automated service on the other end.


Cell phones don't actually send a touch-tone signal when you press the keypad, they send a cellular message to your carrier to insert a touch-tone signal of a specific length into the audio they send to the remote end of the connection.


Many touch-tone systems cannot recognize the (often) shorter-length touch-tone signals cellular carriers send, and thus they don't respond properly.


Does this occur on all automated systems for you, or just some?


If it's all, you may want to contact your cellular carrier for further assistance.
