Said last night my 8 plus updated to 17. This morning my phone was drained 100% and shut off. Now says my software is back to 16.7. Anyone else have this issue?

Not possible. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are not compatible with iOS 17. iOS 17 requires an iPhone XR or newer.

I know.. but the notification came earlier last night.. I have auto updates turned on. Then a notification that it was updated. It was charged at 100% when I went to sleep. Woke up to a dead phone. And the 17 notification disappeared.. when I looked into further this update doesn’t even apply to my 8 plus.. think I might have to turn off auto updates. They messed up big time.
The iPhone 8 cannot be updated to iOS 17, so not sure what happened. You can update the phone to iOS 16.7.2
I was already updated to 16.7.. after waking up to the dead phone and it took a while to get it to charge, it’s saying I’m back to 16.7.
my 8 plus was sent a software update gor 17.
