In order to open “Final Cut Pro”, you need to update to the latest version.
The version of Final Cut Pro installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X El Capitan. You have “Final Cut Pro” 10.0. Download version 10.6.10 from the Mac App Store.
What Tom said. And: if you upgraded your OS it is possible that you need to update FCP. Knowing which versions you have may help elucidate us all.
Also: something does not add up. You ask “why was deleted” but then that you are told to update. You can’t update what is not there. So is FCP there or not?
Which version of FCP and macOS?
Open the App Store. Click the button in the lower left corner that takes you to your account. Sign in of you need to. You should see your Purchases page that lists all the applications you have received from the App Store with your Apple ID. Find Final City Pro. If it’s not installed on your system you should see a cloud download icon. If not post a screenshot of what you see on the Purchased page.
It appears that you are using 10.11 El Capitan.
Tom's instructions are correct, but the location was different back then.
Instead of lower left (as Tom indicated and it is where it is located in later versions), you need to click on
"Purchased" in the top row.
Download it from the App Store using the Apple ID that purchased it.
If you had FCP on your Applications folder, now could it not be in Time Machine.
DIDN'T DO AN UPGRADE- FCP X-OS 10.11-APPLE SAID TO UPDATE AND SNATCHED IT.
Thanks Luis. I guess this is Mac Pro 2013 cylinder that’s never been updated. That’s very strange when it can run, not the latest, but a much more modern OS. Or maybe it’s even older, the OP doesnt give enough information.
Don’t shout.
What computer are you using? What OS? What version were you using? Disappeared from the Applications folder? Is it in the trash? Do you have a Time Machine or other back up?
WHY WAS MY FINAL CUT PRO X DELETED AND SAID I MUST UPGRADE?
I DON'T WANT AN UPGRADE, JUST NEED IT REINSTALLED
Please calm down. If you want to solve the problem, please answer Tom and Luis's questions one by one.
MAC PRO TOWER-OS 10.11-NOT IN THE TRASH-NOT ON TIME MACHINE
Thanks
It's A 2008 MAC Pro OS 10.11 but had been running FCP X perfectly fine.
