MacBook Pro 16'' and Cinema Display 27''

I have a 2021 MacBook Pro 16'', I just got an Apple Cinema Display 27'' (model a1316); I connected them with an adapter: Mini DisplayPort to Type C. As soon as I turned it on, the cinema display had a yellow cast, so I tried to calibrate it with the appropriate xrite i1profiler probe.

Question: I can't change the brightness and contrast of the 27'' cinema display from the MacBook, neither from the keyboard nor from the system panel, I can only change those of the MacBook monitor. How can I command and resolve?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.1

Brightness on Mac displays of this era was controlled over the USB cable.

If you make an ordinary USB 2 connection, The brightness slider should appear, and the keyboard controls will become active once the slider appears.
