Huge System Data size

After issues with upgrading to Sonoma 14.1 , Ive reinstalled again and now it seems that everything is ok except slow files and Apps respond.

Looking at my Internal Fusion Drive capacity , The System Data is very BIG in size.

( See photos )

Leave it ? Or there is something to do with it ? ( If so , then how ? )

basic behavior is to be on the safe side.

PS I'm using iCloud Drive if its relevant ...

And I am NOT a Developer.

Thanks.

Look in the Public folder. If you use unreal engine or anything using the epic games launcher, the games get stored there and show up as "System". It may be the same with steam. One useful thing to do is open finder and press cmd+j while in list view. There you can select "Calculate all sizes", and it will eventually show how large every folder is.

I had this problem once, in Ventura, system data going up to 80GB. I kept on restarting the Mac for few days, that is, I shut it down for the night and booted it up in the morning. After few such restarts, it went back to normal. It stayed like that even after upgrading to Sonoma 14 and 14.1. I don't know, if that would help you, or it got itself to normal by a fluke chance. Now, the system data is even less than macOS.
