You must ask your friend for that information, as it it most likely activation locked to one of their Apple ID's. As you're not the original owner of the watch, apple will not remove the lock for you. If your friend is the original owner of the watch and they can provide valid proof of purchase information, and the watch is locked to an old Apple ID of theirs, , they can start an Activation Lock support request at Apple
