Why doesn't my Apple Watch Series 8 charge to 100%?

My Apple watch series 8 only charges to about 76-78%.

I want it to be 100% for a long day. What's wrong?

Open the Settings app on the Apple Watch ➡️ Battery ➡️ Optimized Battery Charing: You can set this to OFF to ensure a charge to FULL every time. NOTE: The optimized battery charging feature charges the Apple Watch’s battery to approximately 80% and and then charges to 100% just before it learns that you will remove the Apple Watch from its charger. This process maintains the battery capacity at an optimal level as the battery ages.

Optimized Battery Charging is a cutting-edge feature introduced with watchOS 7.

These patterns help the Apple Watch to slow down the charging rate and limit the battery to 80%. This helps in reducing instances where the watch remains connected to power for extended periods for no reason, ultimately preserving and optimizing battery health.

How to disable Optimized Battery Charging on Apple Watch

  1. Access the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
  2. Tap the Battery menu.
  3. Select the Battery Health option.
  4. Finally, toggle off Optimized Battery Charging.
  5. Now, you can select either of the following:

Turn Off Until Tomorrow

Turn Off

You can also Dismiss this action if you’re just checking!

6. Simply tap an option, and you’re good to go!
