hello, let's say I trade in my iPad Air and I receive the credit from it. Can I use that credit to buy a MacBook?

You can either trade it in for a gift card which you can use for a later purchase of a Mac or you can trade directly for a Mac if you arrange the trade at the time you make the Mac purchase.
