Panic Reports on a new Mac Studio Max M2

I have a brand new Mac Studio Max M2 with the Apple Studio Display, just two weeks old. Already on the second or third day I started getting Panic Reports, after the computer crashed and restarted. That happened several times.

Reinstalling Sonoma, booting into Recovery Mode or Safe Mode, running Apple Diagnostics and Rember, and eliminating Sleep Mode did not help. Systematically connecting and disconnecting things in Safe Mode indicated a high probability that it had to do with the Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 1TB V2 (brand new - USB-C Thunderbolt) and perhaps also interacting with the Sleep mode.

However, according to the serial number of the SSD, it appeared that no firmware update was required. However, the Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 1TB V2 is also my backup SSD for Time Machine.

The panic reports are:

1. SOCD report detected: AP Watchdog expired

2. Sleep transition timed out after 35 seconds while calling power state change callbacks. Suspected bundle: com.apple.iokit.IOUSBHostFamily

I've been crash-free for 3 days now. No SSD is connected to any USB-port. This strengthens my tentative idea that the panic reports have to do with USB equipment. I will attach the latest Etrecheck report here in hopefully the proper manner recommended here.

Please, do you know what is going on in my Apple Studio Max M2 (32 GB - 1 TB)? This is what I've already done:

1. Startup in Recovery-mode

2. Startup in Safe Mode

3. macOS Sonoma re-install

4. Hardware Diagnostics (no problems - ADP0000)

5. Rember memory test

6. Systematic check of USB harddrives Western Digital and Sandisk

7. Disabled computer Sleep and allow display to turn off

8. Contacted Sandisk for firmware updater

9. Etrecheck Pro - reports ... and ...

10.Many visits to discussions.apple.com

I don't see nay know bad guys for kernel panics, but you have too many kernel panics:

My notes say that SOCD is System-on-a-Chip Daemon, and seeing that as the source of a panic report is equivalent to the Intel Cat(astrophic) error, often caused by internal faults inside the processor, such as cache faults or similar wonky hardware errors mere mortals can not work around.

¿can you still exchange it? I would.

The SSD's I use on this Mac Studio, are:

Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 1TB V2 (Time Machine backup SSD)
SanDisk Ultra Dual Luxe 128GB, USB-C 3.1 Gen. 1
SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD 1TB

None of them is AC powered. I'm not using them right now. If I want to backup my Mac Studio, I plug in the Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 1TB V2 into the Thunderbolt USB-C on the back of the computer. I set the screen dimming to two hours or so, to prevent interfering with sleep modes. As soon as the back up is finished I dismount the SSD.

That would be my educated guess, that it occurs in interaction with sleep modes. One of the crash reports mentions: "Sleep transition timed out after 35 seconds while calling power state change callbacks. Suspected bundle: com.apple.iokit.IOUSBHostFamily. " Hibernate mode is now not enabled when the display is turned off. I've read about this helpful tip on this forum.

I'm systematically checking what SSD is causing the Panic. One by one ... and I did that too when I was in Safe Mode. I'm gonna try your suggestion to just plug in one USB-Drive to see what happens.
