Backing Up Downloaded ITunes Movies and TV Shows on PC

Is it possible to backup purchased ITunes movies and TV shows using a PC, iTunes, and an external storage device? If so, should my library be larger than the available storage on the PC, is it possible to create multiple backups containing different media files on the external storage device? If not, is there a way to add additional content to the external storage without creating an additional backup? I understand that the files won’t be viewable from the external storage and must be added back to my device but I would like to have a backup of all of my movies and shows if at all possible.

See Make a split library portable - Apple Community and Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy - Apple Community. Ideally you want all of your content in a single drive large enough to hold all your content in one place, and with room for expansion. Then back that up to another drive for security. Larger SSD drives are becoming affordable.
