MacBook Pro Wi-Fi stopped working
Greetings all.
Yesterday, while in use, my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) running Big Sur 11.7.10 (20G1427), disconnected from the Wi-Fi. I've been looking online for a solution, but so far no luck.
What i tried:
- PRAM reset
- SMC reset
- New User
- Safe Mode
- Delete and than add back Wi-Fi service in System Preferences/Network
After I deleted it I couldn't add it back, Wi-Fi does not appear as possible interface
- From the terminal i tried:
% networksetup -setairportpower en0 off
en0 is not a Wi-Fi interface.
** Error: Error obtaining wireless information.
Same for en1 and en2
I than tried:
sudo ifconfig en1 up
It gave no messages but also didn't change en1, tried with down and up, also for en2
- I deleted some of the .plist files in the library as suggested in this article, it didn't solved my problems but after this my ifconfig changed:
en2 is now the Bluetooth PAN that im using to connect to internet. Still no Airport
~ % sudo networksetup -listallhardwareports
Hardware Port: Bluetooth PAN
Device: en2
Ethernet Address: 34:36:3b:ce:86:f9
Hardware Port: Thunderbolt 1
Device: en0
Ethernet Address: 82:0f:21:5b:68:40
Hardware Port: Thunderbolt 2
Device: en1
Ethernet Address: 82:0f:21:5b:68:41
Hardware Port: Thunderbolt Bridge
Device: bridge0
Ethernet Address: 82:0f:21:5b:68:40
VLAN Configurations
===================
and I get this:
~ % networksetup -setairportpower en0 on
You cannot set Wi-Fi power because all AirPort network services are disabled.
I guess the problem could also be the Hardware, i checked the Wi-Fi card and seems well connected.
System Information gives me this:
A last curiosity, with the Wi-Fi turned off the symbol remain with the 3 curved stripes instead of the "quarter of a circle" that use to be.
Any help or tip is appreciated!
