Airpod Series Confusion

I was looking at Apples Airpod line up but Im a little confused about the 3rd Gen Airpods and the 2nd Gen Airpod Pros. By 2nd Gen does it mean its part of the 2nd Generation of Airpods or is it the 2nd Generation of Airpod Pros?

If it is part of the 2nd Generation of Airpods, then will we get a Airpods Pro 3rd Gen, or is it like the iPhone sales model where this years pro phone will be next years base phone?
