Recent Updates - Find My Device "Notify When Found"
I apologize now for the lengthy post. I wanted to include as much info as I could for the support team as well as help fellow community members who frequently misplace their devices.
After recent updates, the Find My Device feature has become much less user friendly and more infuriating.
1) This is for me the community. Using the FMD app on my Apple Watch Series 6, I FINALLY figured out how to turn off the "Find my iPhone alert" (the bar with the green dot)... SWIPE UP on the alert bar!
Am I the only iPhone user to whom this was not obvious?
2) Next, how do I turn on "Notify When Found".
Using the FMD app on my Apple Watch, under Notifications, the option to "Notify When Found" is Off and grayed out.
Using the FMD app on my iPhone, under Notifications, the option to "Notify When Found" is also grayed out with a gray dot. I've noticed it will come on for literally a second or 2, then immediately go gray again. I allow ALL notifications relating to FMD to be on, yet Notify When Found remains gray on both devices.
3) On my Apple Watch, I used swipe up from the main screen and it would have icons to certain apps (similar to swiping from the upper right corner down on the iPhone). I tapped the FMD icon and the alert sounded on my iPhone (much more user friendly and user friendly).
Now I have to push the crown button to access my apps, scroll down to FMD and tap on it before I can even use it.
How can I get it back to how I used to
I've wasted so much time down the rabbit hole trying to find answers from Apple Support to others users who have had the same questions, but it seems I can only find answers where Support requests more info and screenshots, misunderstood questions, etc.
