Problem with iOS 17.1 update on iPad

Since the update (Nov 6, 2023), iMessage and FaceTime are stuck on “verifying”. When I open their settings, the screen freezes.

i have an iPad Air 4th generation (2020).

what can I do to fix this? Already tried restarting my iPad and signing out and in iCloud but didn’t work.

All other apps are working properly.

If you are experiencing difficulties with Messaging and/or FaceTime, start here:

If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support

If you continue to experience difficulties, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
