Firmware lock on MacBook Air

I bought a laptop from a second hand store. Worked fine then ready to sell so was trying to reset to new user and a firmware padlock had come up. I mucked about with it and now it comes up all the time. Can anyone please help to get rid of. Thanks Very Much Martyn

Nope. There is no way to bypass the firmware passcode. Apple can reset it IF you are the ORIGINAL purchaser of the device and can provide documentation to that effect.

Since you bought it second hand, you can’t. It’s a boat anchor. Recycle it.
