Got a message to my text inbox from “Apple Notifications” saying that I have a package ready for pick up at Mall Of America with a confirmation code and all that. I don’t live in Minnesota and have not ordered anything.

Or, is it actually from Apple instead of scammers or does the email contain a link to their site with them wanting you to click on something on "confirm"? If you did not order anything and there is no record of it in your account, ignore the sam attempt and delete it.
We are your fellow end users, not Apple, so cannot investigate. Does the notification lead to an email or text with instructions for contacting Apple? That's all we can suggest.
