How Do I See 180G of Hidden Files in Finder

I have started getting "Your Disk is Almost Full" messages repeatedly on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports).

There appear to be 180G of files that do not show up in Finder.

I see tips on how to search for hidden files that you know the name of. My question is how do I make visible these files that I have no idea what they and where they came from?

This article for a RELATED disk-hogging issue recommends two different Utilities for Identifying BIG files. Neither removes anything automatically, they just run for a quarter hour and search the biggest files, invisible or not.

Know what and where can make a world of difference in how you deal with it.

Hidden files are hidden for a reason. This way you can't remove system critical files. However, if you know what you're doing (fair warning here, if you don't have IT experience be very careful deleting hidden files) you can follow this steps to make the hidden files visible

Open finder>press CMD+shift+.

And then you will see the hidden folders appearing.

And I stress this again: only do this if you're certain of which files you're deleting as you can delete system critical files!

Best of luck!

Yes thank you, good advice!

I do so see that a directory called Home (Alias) seems to be the problem child. And it seems not to want to open for me, so I'll put this problem aside for a day or two with the thought that I'll either end up taking this Mac to a computer repair shop or just continue to limp long until this three year computer's memory is completely full with hidden files.
