Finder Window too many HD under Locations
Please see attached image. It is of my finder window. There are over 40 Macintosh HD. I have no clue why or how to stop them from reproducing. Thanks in advance....Karen

Downgrading the MacOS
Considered downgrading the macOS?
You would Manual Reinstall:
Create a Time Machine Backup. From there, fully delete the partition. From, install macOS X 10.12 Sierra. From there, migrate it all back. - Use a USB Bootable Installer to create It.
A. Create a Time Machine First...
Create a Time Machine Backup of your Mac, that way you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the install, and to migrate it all back. Use an External Hard Drive at least 1.5 times the size of the Internal Hard Drive.
B. Then... Reinstall the Mac OS that was Previously Installed.
I. Create a USB Bootable Installer:
II. Erase the Hard Drive:
III. Boot From USB Bootable Installer:
C. Once Installed...
I. Create a Second Time Machine First...
Create a Time Machine Backup of your Mac, that way you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the install, and to migrate it all back. Use a Second External Hard Drive at least 1.5 times the size of theInternalHard Drive.
II. Use Migration Assistant:

Seems I've misinterpreted your post. Took it as is restarting [the same procedure] fixed it.
So, have you made any changes to your Mac prior to all of this (i.e. installed an update)?
Nothing. I'm going to be stuck with Monterey until I replace my Mac....
