The light flashes amber but never turns white. What should I do now?

I’m attempting to reconnect a pair of my iPods and they won’t show on my iPhone Bluetooth options. I’ve pressed the button on the back of the iPods pro case with the earbuds in the case. The light turns amber & blinks but then stops.

Any suggestions?

iPhone 14, iOS 16

flashing amber light shows an error: means AirPods need to be reset and paired.

Your AirPods would need to be well-charged, and in discovery mode. (flashing white) in order to pair.

If you haven't already, you might want to try wearing your AirPods

and

on iPhone: Try Settings > Bluetooth > tap "Not Connected"

Sometimes restarting the iPhone restores order, if the AirPods have been pairing ok before.

Re: Any suggestions?

You. may want to check if the AirPods firmware is up-to-date:

About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support

Your iPhone may need updating to the latest compatible iOS version.

About iOS 17 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 17.1.1 is the newest version.

(The firmware on the AirPods can then be updated automatically when paired).

Tip: If needed: Leave AirPods connected to power overnight

with the iPhone connected to wi-fi close by, so AirPods can update automatically
