Saved Stories in Apple News Widget + Reading List

Am I missing something here? I would love to be able to have a desktop News Widget that listed my saved articles (much in the same way I can have a safari widget displaying my reading list). I see "topics" but that is the only choice available with the desktop news widget.

Additionally, does anyone know the fastest way to send an Apple News article to my reading list? That could be a possible work around?

Customizing the Apple News feed I keep asking Apple News to “suggest less” on stories in my feed in an attempt to customize the news feed. But I keep getting more of the same kind of stories. How long is it supposed to take Apple to reflect my preferences using this system? Also, why is there no search function in the News app for iPhone on the main screen when you want to find a story that you saw but can’t find it in your feed any longer? There is a search under “manage favorites,” but search should be easily accessible from the home screen of the app.

Stop Apple News App for MacOS from Opening New Windows I've searched everywhere and have not found any solutions, but wanted to ask here before submitting a change request to Apple. I use the MacOS version of Apple News extensively, since it's so much easier to read than on an iPhone. But every time I open a story from the App, it opens a new window instead of opening the story inline inside the News App itself. It's very annoying and disrupts the ability to use the "go back" metaphor for reading that has been a browser standard since Mosaic employed backwards and forwards buttons in the early 1990s. Has anyone found a way to force News to open stories inside the existing News App main window? I'd like it to work the same way it does on iOS, where it does open inline and allows use of the back arrow. Otherwise, I'll request a change from Apple, but I doubt they'll consider it.

Apple News “Saved” and “History” missing At some point I became unable to find my saved articles in Apple News. I can save the article but my selection to go to the saved articles is missing. I also no long have a history selection. Additionally, I am no longer able to return to my news feed generally once I select a topic or channel. This happened with some update (not sure which one). I am on an IPad Pro 3rd Generation with IpadOS 17.0.3. What can I do to get my saved and history selection back?
