Gmail shows correct attachment but iPhone shows attachment as winmail.dat.

This problem goes back a long, long, long time…
The root cause is in the formatting used by the senders email program.
Getting the sender to fix it on their end is the only sure way to avoid it going forward.
This is most often caused by users of older versions of Outlook and some other email clients that are set up to send email in "Rich Text" format instead of either HTML or plain text.
Tell the sender to change the format of their outgoing mail to either HTML or plain text.

Yes, I tried sending a small word document in Plain, HTML, and Rich text formats and all THREE emails resulted in winmail.dat attachments on my iPhone. Thoughts?
