Apple Watch keeps not getting texts

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

Texts, like notifications, appear on your Apple Watch or iPhone, but not both. If your iPhone is unlocked, you get notifications on your iPhone instead of your Apple Watch. If your iPhone is locked or asleep, you get notifications on your Apple Watch, unless your Apple Watch is locked. For more info, see:

I am having the same problem and no, none of the standard things work.

It is not a focus settings issue

It is not a notifications settings issue

It is not because the phone is in use

etc.

Basically Apple provided a defective update, and as usual, refuses to acknowledge it.

As such, the watch is practically useless and a pain since the notifications are silenced on the phone since the phone thinks the watch is making them, which it is not. This is not the only issue either. The options seleted on my watch face are not matching those set on the phone and are not always being displayed either.

Time to turn off the watch.
