Minimed-Mobile Watch App not showing on complication lists....

Medtronic has released a minimed-mobile app for its new 780G pump for the Apple watch and I have it installed. The problem is that it is not showing up as an option for complications in any of the faces. I have been in touch with Medtronic tech as well as with another user who is able to add the app to her selected face. The tech response is that the problem is not theirs, and since another user has no problem, it must be something I am doing wrong. I use the Modular Face and have no other app issues. Suggestions?

The important thing to note is that for now the only complication that works is “bottom”, not “bottom right” or “bottom left” or anything else.. just “bottom”.

Other thing to be sure of is having the app installed on the watch. Beyond that so long as you are logged in to the app on the phone and leave it running in the background it should be fine.

Only issue so far for me is closing the app on the phone on accident and it needing to reconnect to the pump.

there is an iOS update released this evening that allows a lot more complications to be used, not sure if it is on ALL of them or just MORE of them, but I now am using Bottom Right on the Modular face, I was also able to use Middle & Top Left as well. In using Bottom Right the number shows in the shield, like it would when you open the app.

No obvious other differences in the app functionality, maybe just maybe the complication on the watch is more stable at showing the glucose number and not having to go into the app a lot of times to see it.

Nothing in the app update that indicates it is iOS 17.4 compatible, as they had sent out a don't update to 17.4 email recently.

It's a puzzle -- the tech folks at MiniMed have no idea (it is obviously a design thing -- not "fixable") and obviously no one at Apple is going to take the time to explain. Looking at the options (in terms of faces where it supposedly works), there is emphasis on sports-related and kids-related faces, and only one basic face (Utility) for the rest of us. I guess they think us older, inactive Type 2s are not worth the bother....

It would be nice if there was some place to check to see if/when they expand to the modular face. Most folks spent a lot of $$$ for the newer watches BECAUSE of ability to have 6 complications but then have to sacrifice that in order to have their blood sugars immediately available. I'm very glad it is there but wish we didn't have to choose. The other option, which I have not figured out, would be to have the modular face, but be able to use the left button to immediately bring up the MiniMed watch app screen to see your glucose level almost as quickly.

As best as I can tell the complication choices relate to the amount of room required to fit the complication and basically the ones they offer are the ones that only have "bottom" as the option as it is the widest(?), whereas nothing with bottom left/center/right aren't offered.

Current using "Activity Digital", holding off on looking at a Watch Ultra as I just don't know what options there will be. Something like Middle could be really good to show the trends instead of say weather. Would also be really good if they offered the history(?) screen (swipe right in the MiniMed app) with 1hour or 2 hour history so on the 1 hour history the graph can be a little less extreme on the ups/downs.
