How to know if i have a malware or something suspicious on my MacBook?

I have been hacked couple of months ago,

I formatted the laptop, but for a better peace of mind, today I did a reset factory settings, basically deleting everything and re-installed the system back.

No back-up No nothing.

but I still have that fear that there's malware or something suspicious .

First question is how can I be 100% sure that my laptop is clean as a whistle?

second question is what is mdbulkimport?

mdbulkimport is an Apple framework for indexing files used by Spotlight. It is common for this process to run after clean install or update.

The process you did by formatting the drive and doing a clean install is the best approach to clearing your system of any third party applications that may have been installed, including Malware. You can be sure your system is clean as a whistle. In addition I would also recommend changing your Apple ID Password, so you can be sure your account has not been breached as well.

Hi,

I think you are too doubt about the safety of macOS.

And as for mdbulkimport: It's part of Spotlight, the importer that adds file metadata to spotlight to let you search files by content, attributes, etc.

You can disable it through System Preferences -> Spotlight.
