My MacBook Pro will not sync up with my new iMac for file transfer

I just purchased a band new imac and am in the process of trying to link up to my Macbook pro to transfer, via bluetooth, my files using apple software.

You are going about the migration incorrectly!!!!! Please connect the old Macs Time Machine backup External Hard Disk to the new Mac and run Migration Assistant which you will find in Applications- Utilities - Migration Assistant.


This is the fastest, most reliable method of migration. NEVER EVER Use wi fi or Bluetooth. If the old Mac does not have a Time Machine backup create one and if you need a USB A to USB C adapter buy one on Amazon for less than $10.
