My mouse has frozen in the top left hand corner and now I have loss control of my computer. How do I get the mouse working?

Had power outage since then loss the mouse

Press and hold the power button for about ten seconds.


When you do this, your Mac will do an un-controlled emergency power-down.

Leave it at least a quarter minute.

Then try to start up again and see how far you get, and what shows on the display..

Troubleshooting a Frozen Mouse:


Using Force Quit:

Two Steps

1. Get to Finder:

Use the following to exit the app and get to Finder the (Smileyface). Use My User Tip: [command+tab] Use it to Access your Mac when Something is Not Responding - User Tip

2. Force Quit this and All Apps:

  1. Go to: Apple menu
  2. Select: Force Quit...
  3. Select: an app
  4. Click: the Force Quit... button
  5. Click: the Force Quit... Button.
  6. Perform seeps 3-6 for all listed apps
  7. Restart your Mac
