iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

I've been having an ongoing issue with the iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth where it keeps disconnecting from bluetooth, regardless of what device it is connected to.

I've taken my phone to the Apple store several times and they've done partial restores, full restores, "board" replacements, and they even replaced my iPhone with the same model, but the problem still exists, it's not due to any software I install as I always wait to see if the issue comes back after every service before I load anything to it.

If you google this problem you'll see that there are plenty of people with the same issue, but Apple continues to play dumb and pretend that there isn't a problem.

So far they have refused to update me to a newer model to see if the issue gets fixed or not, but I will not spend another grand on a phone from Apple that is not in full working order.

Has anyone had any luck with getting Apple to admit that this is an ongoing issue?

Same issue here bro. You pretty much described my exact story as well. Been doing it for month's! And it’s not INTERFERENCE either because mine does it to me in my vehicle as well. Oh and mine isn’t max just pro. Bunch of BS!

Wouldn't that also affect the iPad bluetooth connection though?
The only thing I haven't tried is disconnecting all my smart devices such as Alexa speakers and seeing if that helps. I'll give that a try and see if that changes anything

Ah, that’s a helpful hint. Bluetooth can support a maximum of 7 simultaneously connected devices. If you try to connect an 8th device one of the current connected ones will disconnect.

Agreed on the "more than just interference" part, and ditto on the approximate start time for me. I use the Signal app for a lot of calls, and I can start a call on my iPhone 12 and PowerBeats Pro earpieces, and after 15-20 minutes my phone will lose connectivity with one or both earpieces. I can re-initiate the call via Signal from my MacBook, sitting directly in front of me at my desk, with the same PowerBeats Pro earpieces, and can continue my call to conclusion, no problem. I have more frequently started making and taking my Signal calls via my MacBook rather than my iPhone 12 when at my desk, without incident.

Hi Lawrence, I did try that, I've tried every suggestion and fix mentioned here, even have had my phone replace with the same model, but it still happens. I've tested it by switching to my iPad when it begins to disconnect, and I can use my iPad all day or night without any issues, but as soon as I connect to my phone, it begins right away.

It's also not an issue of other apps interfering as I've had the issue before I even load any new apps. Besides, my iPad has all the same apps as my phone and it's never had an issue. It has to be something tied to the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I’ve been having exactly the same problem with an iPhone 12 Pro. They did the reset, full factory reset, I had to restore the devices as a new Phone. In the end they gave me a new device and it’s still doing it. I just had a FaceTime call my AirPods connected and disconnected four times in two minutes.

It does it in many different places with lots of different Bluetooth devices such as my car or my Bluetooth speakers. I think it must be a known issue because Apple was super hesitant to give me a new phone despite all the resets. Presume they know that the new devices are likely to have the same fault.

I am facing same issue from few months. Earlier I thought my Airpod has some issue but when I tried to connect with other device it only connects when my phone is very close to the device else it gets disconnected.

Looks like the Bluetooth connectivity range has decreased.

But I have observed this after I upgraded to ios 18. Might be a software bug for some models.

But we need solution for this ****** issue.
