iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

I've been having an ongoing issue with the iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth where it keeps disconnecting from bluetooth, regardless of what device it is connected to.

I've taken my phone to the Apple store several times and they've done partial restores, full restores, "board" replacements, and they even replaced my iPhone with the same model, but the problem still exists, it's not due to any software I install as I always wait to see if the issue comes back after every service before I load anything to it.

If you google this problem you'll see that there are plenty of people with the same issue, but Apple continues to play dumb and pretend that there isn't a problem.

So far they have refused to update me to a newer model to see if the issue gets fixed or not, but I will not spend another grand on a phone from Apple that is not in full working order.

Has anyone had any luck with getting Apple to admit that this is an ongoing issue?

I’ve been having exactly the same problem with an iPhone 12 Pro. They did the reset, full factory reset, I had to restore the devices as a new Phone. In the end they gave me a new device and it’s still doing it. I just had a FaceTime call my AirPods connected and disconnected four times in two minutes.

It does it in many different places with lots of different Bluetooth devices such as my car or my Bluetooth speakers. I think it must be a known issue because Apple was super hesitant to give me a new phone despite all the resets. Presume they know that the new devices are likely to have the same fault.

I am facing same issue from few months. Earlier I thought my Airpod has some issue but when I tried to connect with other device it only connects when my phone is very close to the device else it gets disconnected.

Looks like the Bluetooth connectivity range has decreased.

But I have observed this after I upgraded to ios 18. Might be a software bug for some models.

But we need solution for this ****** issue.

As I mentioned in my comments, that has already been tried, the only thing that they have not done is switching me to a newer model that is not having this issue.

It seems like since around the iOS 17.1 update I've been experiencing this. It happens in multiple locations and with multiple Bluetooth devices from multiple manufacturers. It definitely seems to be a "phone" issue and not an "environment" issue. Hard reset perhaps resolved it for 24 hours but it came back. It makes phone conversations over Air Pods impossible. My JBL speaker no longer holds a strong connection and cuts out frequently when playing podcast. Bluetooth conversations in my vehicle also drop out. I'd really like if someone were able to share some diagnostic procedures on the Bluetooth link rather than "clean install"... which I am very loath to do.

Just want to give everyone an update. Still have my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the issue has actually gotten worse.

As soon as I connect to it with either my AirPod Pros, Regular Airpods, or my Sony WF-1000XM4, it starts loosing connection. I can connect to my iPad just fine with any of those devices and I don't have the issue. It's strictly the iPhone. Might have to just keep going back to the Apple store until they fix it, after all I'm paying for Apple Care for a reason.
