Upgrade apple ipad

How do I upgrade my apple IPad? I’m trying to download an app, onsong 2023. This application requires iOS 14.2 or later. I went to settings, general, software update. My automatic updates is on. It says, iOS 12.5.7 your software is up to date.

An unit on 12.5.7 isn't capable of 13 or above. Try downloading the application to a newer one on the same Apple ID first.
