CIBC Costco Mastercard not working on Apple Pay after iOS 17.1 update

It seems CIBC Costco card lags behind iOS updates. This is the third time it gets declined on Apple Pay (tap paying at retailers, linked payment to McD app food orders)

Removed and re-add the card to Apple Pay will yield error message “payment method not accepted”.

CIBC account shows in good standing and no security, profile settings issues or travel block.

On CIBC credit card account service option: Apple Pay settings: tapped into that section and it says my card is not set up to use with Apple Pay (as in not compatible, not ‘to be set up’) (>_<)

Requested a call back from CIBC this evening… I’m pretty sure it’s a compatibility update issue, not hardware or my Apple or mastercard account… anyone else having similar experiences? good luck all (⌒-⌒; )
