Can't make phone calls after iOS 17.1.1 update

I am so angry. Phone turns into unresponsive brick. Or crashes. Or responds at glacial speed. Worst update ever.

Are they trying to force us to buy new phones?

Would those phones have the same problems if they use 17.1.1 ?

Will they fix this horrible “update”?

What angers me is this was a forced update for me; I wasn’t given the choice!

now making and receiving calls is extremely bugged! The screen gets this white shade to it, like a light grey color instead of black, and I get this weird buzzing when talking to people!

I cannot make reliable outgoing calls, and incoming calls are just as bad!

Maybe they will fix the problem with the update!

I have the same problem with texts and also Notes. Apple really screwed up this time. I suggest Apple cobble together an undo update fast. The user community is going to switch to Galaxy phones, because the iPhone has utterly failed us.

Apple keep removing/declining my posts. Let's see if they let this one be posted to let people know they are actively removing/declining posts that are raising issues about the recent update. I would have thought a better use of their time would be to try to solve the problem. Really Apple - are you not embarrassed? - solve the problem - don't spend time deleting/declining posts that are not offensive in any way but are merely stating the experiences people are having with you new upgrade and are asking you to solve a problem that you have created. Being avoidant of the problem does not solve the problem - and stopping people posting is just...well...I have no words for that.

Iphone se—17.1.1 update!! What the h… is going on? Apple should launch a global communication to all iphone users indicating a fix to all of these issues. Volume, lag time, no notifications on screen, no app badge, to name a few based on other comments I have read here! This update was to fix bugs and improve performance. BS Apple. Get some programmers that know what they are doing and fix it! NOW! Too much money spent on hardware to have these bs updates!

For my iPad iOS 17.1.1

I reformatted immediately after the iOS update installed.   Chaos was evident that day  but I can’t recall all the details..

After the reformat I  didn’t touch the iPad again for days.

Then I reformatted it AGAIN today.

Only Safari seems to be affected today.

When I clear the cache and website data

It’s not remembering to close ALL history

It’s not remembering to close ALL tabs

So when I open my Safari start page it’s returning to the last webpage I opened.

It might be still secure but I’m not sure.

I still can’t get phone calls. My phone won’t ring. Please get rid of this update. I will never do another update again. I always have problems but this is the worst. Because we need to be able to communicate!

I agree, Im to the point where I dont wanna have any contacts in my phone period. I just bought a new phone Oct. 24th. I went from iphone 8 to iphone se 2022 version. I backup my phone everyday. I even delete backups so I just have 1 backup. My backup storage keeps increasing instead of decreasing. Even after Ive deleted things. I delete texts manually and go to settings messages delete after 30 days. I hit that option everday to make sure its deleted. I talked to apple about this and they said sometimes it will take 24hrs-2-3 days for texts to be deleted on apples end once I delete them. I read somewhere on here awhile ago it said once you delete something off your phone it might take up to 180days for it to be permantly deleted on apples end. The whole thing is annoying. I hope they fix it in new ios update but I doubt it.

My se 2020 is useless also. The camera shut down if I try to take a video, the photos camera close down some times. The device gets really hot from the top right part. The apps get black and then they close. I cannot do anything without restarting the phone. Then in some minutes I have to restart again.

17.1.1 SUCKS! Can’t make calls, text messages say they sent but they haven’t. It’s a nightmare trying to use my phone on hands free. If I do get a call in I can’t understand what is being said. For the love of god fix it please my business is suffering and my elderly mom can’t reach me!

How is it possible to stop getting notifications of posts on this thread? It is obviously one of those out-of-control threads that just hosts generic gripes from posters with little evidence to support their claims of disaster. 17.1.1 works fine on my iPhone XS.

Unfortunately, what I suspected is true. Unsubscribing using the link from an email post takes you to an option that only gives you the ability to silence ALL Apple Community threads you have participated in or have otherwise been following. Most other community forums have a notification opt-out at the head of each thread.

I've tried restarting, reset the network connections and now my iPhone 14 will not connect to the internet after upgrading. None of my apps that require internet connection will even launch. Suggestions?
