Printer connecting problems!

Anyone ever figure out why iPads are not connecting to wireless printers? I’m still not able so wondered if anyone else is still having issues.

Hi,

The following models are listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support:

  • HP ENVY 4520 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4520 e-All-In-One Printer series
  • HP ENVY 4521 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4522 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4523 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4524 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4525 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4526 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4527 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4528 All-In-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 4529 All-In-One Printer

If your HP printer is one of those, it should be compatible with iPadOS without an additional app, provided that the printer and the iPad are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

You may want to try a full power-cycle sequence (including the router, in this order, with these waiting times):

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the HP printer, the iPad, and all other devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the HP printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iPad. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.

Also, a VPN in use on the iPad may affect printing. If applicable, you could check whether there is a change without the app in question.

Have you verified that the printer has the latest possible firmware version?
