I bought a phone from someone and later found out that there is Sim locked on it
I bought a phone from someone and later found out that there is Sim locked (carrier lock) on it. How can I go about unlocking it.
Only the carrier can unlock the phone, so you will have to contact the carrier to request this.
Unfortunately, the carrier is likely under no obligation to do this, so you may or may not be successful.
If the carrier tells you that you need to contact Apple to have the phone unlocked....(we hear this story frequently)..... they are simply trying to get you off the phone.
Apple is not a carrier. They cannot unlock the phone.
