Military emojis?

You don't. It isn't possible to add your own emojis. At least, not in a way that would work everywhere.

There are plenty of third party emoji fonts you can find online, but they're only useful if the person or persons you're sending those emojis to have the exact same font installed on their devices.

This is why one entity, the Unicode Consortium, controls what emojis get added to the set. When an emoji is okayed, it is a assigned a specific Unicode position in the font and all vendors are given a general depiction of what it should look like.

From there Apple, Microsoft, Android and all other OS vendors create their own art based on the general depiction and add the emoji to their font. This is necessary so when you send an emoji of a baseball from your Mac to any other user, no matter what device or OS they're using, they'll see a baseball emoji since that image is in the same Unicode position in their emoji font.

There are already military helmet and medal emojis. For reference, most emoji types are created by the Unicode Consortium, not Apple.
