Default audio device selection

When a bluetooth audio headset connects to mac os, it is not automatically selected as the output. How does one tell mac os to select the bluetooth device when it connects?

I want Mac OS to make the default audio device that it is using to be selected according to my preferences. For example, if there are three audio devices: 1) speaker on screen one 2) speaker on screen two and 3) My BT headphones. If my BT device is not connected, then the default is #2 and Mac Os selects it, when I connect my BT device, Mac OS stays with #2 selected instead of automatically switching to #3.

My question is first can I configure this (I am asking Apple specifically) and second if I cannot, can Apple consider it for the next version of Mac OS.

For the most part your responses have not been addressing my issue, and I am asking Apple also.

as I already mentioned, I believe there are no settings for that.

asking apple does not happen on this site. this is a user to user forum. apple only monitors the site to look for violations of the terms of the community.

and second if I cannot, can Apple consider it for the next version of Mac OS.

again, apple is not here. to suggest new features you would like to see, contact them here > Feedback - macOS - Apple

I'm trying my best to help. so I guess I will now step aside. maybe someone else can help you.
