Will transfer work between two iMacs, one with a Migration Assistant (10.14) and the new iMac with a 14.0 Migration Assistant?

iMac 24″, macOS 14.0

Yes, it should.


Generally speaking the greater number of macOS versions there are between the new Mac and the one whose content you're migrating, the greater possibility for some error to occur, but what you propose is what I have done with every Mac since the 1990s at least — even those running the old "Classic" operating system migrated successfully.


It might take the better part of a day, but Transfer to a new Mac with Migration Assistant - Apple Support is the best way to do it.
