MacOS's Resolution is NOT actual real resolution, it mislead people to think my 4K Monitor can not do UI scaling (UI Scaling option missing)

In MacOS 14.1 (Sonoma)

if you have a 4K or higher display. you will find there is no Scaling option

but only to use 1920x1080, if you use 3840x2160 every thing is too small and no way to scale.


but actually.

this 1080p is (4K scaled to look like 1080p)

and the UI never tell you don't panic the 1080p is fake it's 4K


I think the UI should not say resolution but (native 4K scaled to look like 1080p)

Hold the option key while selecting Scaled, or select show all resolutions:
