weather app precipitation map view

I clicked on the precipitation map to see the time lapse view. It expanded and showed that view, but there appears to be no way to get back to that smaller view (for precip, temp, air quality). The "x" in the upper left corner of that view closes the entire app. And now it re-launches with that view taking up the entire right side. I tried clicking somewhere else on the app, which works to close the wind, sunset, etc. pop-up windows, but it doesn't work.

• How do I get back to the default view?
• Why is there an X in that specific element that closes the whole app?
