iPhone 15 alarm not working

i have two phones - a 14 for work and a 15 for personal. My morning alarm does not work on my 15, so I’ve now had to resort to using my 14 for my morning alarm. Time is set correctly, volume is turned ALL the way up and it still won’t go off. Apps are update. It’s got to be a bug in the new 15 operating system.

Same problem. I just switched from android to IPhone 15 Pro. I happend to me twice. My morning alarm was silent. No vibrations. But the alarm was showing on the screen. volume levels are fine. it happen Only for morning alarms. Other alarms work fine.

This really makes my first impressions of using the iPhone poor.

Just updated to 17.2 and it still doesn’t work. Does anyone know if beta works?

When will Apple fix this? I find it bizarre that Apple allows such a serious bug to persist.

Also, anyone have a good alarm to recommend that works when screen is locked? The ones I’ve tried need me to keep my phone unlocked the whole night.

If the alarm volume is too low or quiet

Do Not Disturb and the Ring/Silent switch don’t affect the alarm sound. If you set your Ring/Silent switch to Silent or turn on Do Not Disturb, the alarm will still sound.

If your alarm doesn’t sound or is too quiet, or if your iPhone only vibrates, check the following:

  • Set the volume on your iPhone. If your alarm volume is too low or too loud, press the volume up or volume down button to adjust it. You can also go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and drag the slider under Ringtone and Alert Volume.
  • If your alarm only vibrates, make sure your alarm sound isn’t set to None. Open the Clock app, tap the Alarm tab, then tap Edit. Tap the alarm, then tap Sound and choose a Sound.
  • If you connect headphones to your iPhone, the alarm will play at a set volume through the built-in speakers on your iPhone as well as wired and wireless headphones.

Manually adjusting the time on your iPhone in Settings to change app behaviour, such as game timers, isn’t recommended and can affect alarms.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 13 Pro ever since the iOS updated. At first I thought it was me and then I started testing different things. I have followed every single troubleshooting option. I have deleted and created new alarms. I have resorted it to Setting my Amazon Alexa app every day. This is absolutely ridiculous. Many of us used alarm clocks back in the day and now we rely on our cell phones because they are portable. Why should we have to download a third-party app? It makes me question Apple if they can’t fix something as simple as the alarm clock.

Yes it is very frustrating.

This is an on-going software problem Apple has yet to fix. They are very aware of the problem and are working on it.

I bought mine in September and called for help 5 times. We verified the problem even rebooted my phone twice.

Their advice was to find an alarm app and download it until the problem is fixed.

Note: there are lots of fixes shown here and many will work...for a while. The software problem is insidious and will come back in a week or so. If it is like mine it will start by missing occasionally or only play one "note" for a week or so before stopping completely. Very random.

Hope I’m not too late but if you toggle off “attention aware” and “attention aware features” (which I know, it sucks to turn off) in settings, then the alarm in nightstand mode will work.. just do a settings search the two mentioned above and you will find those settings. still not the best but at least I can hear the alarm at least once.. I believe the problem is with the always on feature of the nightstand clock.. it thinks you are somehow looking at the screen..

I have an iphone 14 and have been dealing with this issue since summer 2023. I have 4 alarms set on my phone for the morning and they will randomly not go off, and its usually linked to a new update coming out. Every time theres a new update becomes available, my alarms become intermittent and just won’t go off once a week or so. Its never consistent. I’m so freaking frustrated because I am trying to get a job at my kids school and my kids have been late by a half hour 16 times this year because of this issue!!! Not to mention that once my son starts to take the bus, this will create a whole new issue because I can’t drive!!! Get this fricking fixed apple!!
