My Macbook Air cannot find my Canon printer

I have been having this issue for YEARS. I would always have to delete and re-add my printer. Every single time I would have to go into my home office and make sure the printer was turned on, could not be idle. Now it cannot even find it to re-add.

I can print from my phone no problem.

I have tried AirPrint and Canon drivers - it still doesn't work. I have tried all the suggestions on the Apple Support Website - nothing. Before my AppleCare coverage expired, I had it working BRIEFLY with help from a phone call, but it basically only worked while I was on the phone with the support person. The next time I went to use it I had to delete and re-add again. I have also gone through Canon and they can't figure it out either. This is incredibly frustrating for someone who does still need paper for work.

My Macbook Air, updated OS to Sonoma 14.1.1 cannot find my Canon ImageClass MF642Cdw printer/scanner/fax. PLEASE HELP!!!

I bought this printer like 4 years ago, read all the reviews thinking it would work seamlessly with my Apple products and it has been nothing but headaches ever since.
