All of a sudden I lost the safari app on my iphone12 and can’t get it back

One way to get it back is:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

If you search for the app (Safari) in the App Store, does it give you the option to download or update it?

Search for the app in spotlight to verify it’s not hiding in the App Library or overlooked on a different page.
