how do I update Safari on my mac

My guess is you're a Chase bank customer who's been notified their Safari browser needs to be updated?

Your best solution is to download and install an alternate web browser like Firefox, Brave, or Chrome, as the only way of updating Safari on a Mac is to update your MacOS. If you can no longer update your MacOS, an alternate web browser is your ONLY option, really (well...purchasing a new Mac would be another option, I suppose😄)

Go to Settings -> General -> System Update. Safari update usually comes with the system update.
