Storage says 45 GB on apps, but there is only 10 GB in the app folder. Where can I find other disk space that is used for apps?

I was analyzing my disk space, and I found out that apps take up 45GB of my disk space. When I look into the apps folder, there is only about 10GB. Where can I find other disk space that is used for apps?

MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

Is there an " Alert " issued by the Operating System to the effect of " Computer is running out of Space " ?


Then, yes I too would be worried


If not - problems will find you soon enough without looking for them


Use the categories to select and remove files. To delete files, open a category, select an unneeded file, then click Delete; click Show in Finder to view the file in the Finder. Click the Info button to open a category.

  • Applications: Contains all the apps installed on your Mac (excluding system applications).


Their Party Applications installed will have Cache Files plus Support Documents that maybe included in the calculate of Applications Usage of Space
