Select the photos you want to move to the EHD and use the File ➙ Export ➙ Unmodified Original menu option. If you choose to export as an edited photo the Live photo will be lost and you'll only have an JPEG edited version.
Live photos will be exported with a JPEG and MOV file with the same name. Once imported into another library they will become live again.

"Drag and Drop" is not entirely supported. It works, but how it works my depend on the version. File>Export works.
I think I found the tool of my (our) dreams. Its called "photos export pro" in App Store https://apps.apple.com/de/app/photos-export-pro/id1484356283?mt=12
hello,
what is the difference between drag and drop the media out of photos to a folder and using File ➙ Export ➙ Unmodified Original menu option ?
Variant 1 is faster for me but with errors... "cannot export file. unknown error (0)".
Variant 2 (your suggestion) is so **** slow.
What is happening there in those methods?
Are there other methods (faster and reliable)?
